But the English is just littered with bad grammar and typos. At the end of the day, it's a golf game, so it's not game ruining or anything. 5 characters (4 of which are, of course, girls, so there's only 1 male character) and 3 courses/story chapters. It's just a 4 day beta, but there's not that much content in so far. It's slightly better in singleplayer, although it's still not smooth. Maybe it's a beta thing or a hardware problem (I'm playing on an Honor 9, which should be plenty strong enough), but it makes multiplayer very hard to play. In multiplayer in particular, the game stutters like crazy to the point that it's sometimes hard to hit you shots right. By far the biggest problem is the performance. It's region locked on the playstore, but runs fine when sideloaded from an apk.

I can't really remember all of them, but a lot of the courses are reused from the PC game, as are characters, although with upgraded models. So far, I've only seen them in story mode, but it feels completely unnecessary. You can also just avoid them by keeping the ball away from them. For some reason, some courses feature monsters on them, which you can destroy by using a club set with an attribute they are weak against, or with a strong enough 'purification' stat. The only skill I've managed to unlock so far is a skill that slightly increases drive distance for one shot. There are also extra skills that require you to charge a skill gauge by hitting items around the course. Each character has a special shot type (like a Tomahawk), and you can use two special shots per match with no cooldown or charging time. The skill/special system has been completely overhauled (as the PC one obviously wouldn't work well on mobile). The 1st is good at driving, the 2nd is good at approaching and the 3rd is good at putting). Each character has a specialty, for instance longer drives or more accurate approaches, and you're supposed to build your team around that (For example, the starter team comes with 3 characters. You take a party of 3 characters into a match, with characters switching after every shot. Speaking of characters, this game uses a very weird system. I say seemingly from the story because I immediately pulled costumes for both of the unlockable characters, so I had them unlocked from the start. There's two types of gatchas, one for outfits (that come in a single item for the entire thing, so you cant mix and match for example a shirt from one costume with pants from another, but it also means that you only need to get one good), one for clubs and a bunch of them for items used for leveling up items/characters.Ĭharacters, on the other hand, don't come from a gatcha, but can seemingly be unlocked either through story or are unlocked as soon as you pull one of their costumes from the gatcha.

The monetization system is completely standard as far as Gatcha games go, with paid currency that is given out in small events or from things like leveling up or completing achievements. Not that big of a deal, but creating an account requires either a phone number or a Facebook account. It's a LINE game, so that means you need a LINE account (and I believe also the LINE app) to be able to play it. There's also an async 30 player tournament mode that unlocks at level 10, but I'm not exactly sure on how it works. There's real time 1v1 multiplayer, with both players taking shots at the same time. So it's nice to have some more arcade Golf games around. Then there's the Japanese only Everybody's Golf, and that's it. There's Eagle, but that game's too grindy and pay-to-win for my liking. There's basically no competition for this on mobile. Caddies still expire after a month though. You no longer need to pay to speed up shots and most one use advantage items have been removed. At the very least, it's much less blatantly pay to win than the original Pangya, although it would be pretty hard for it not to be. Although of course, this is a beta, so maybe they adjusted the numbers for that. So far at least, the payment model doesn't seem to bad for its competitors. The game is also better at limiting what clubs you can use in what situation (woods only from green, for example), so no more stupid wood/long iron shots from bunkers and the like. This means that 40y+ putts are no longer practically guaranteed, and that good approaches actually matter somewhat. For example, putting is much harder, with shorter maximum range (20y), and the fact that it now also requires you to hit a pangya for good accuracy. The core gameplay feels very familiar, but it does in my opinion improve some things from the PC version. As a pretty big fan of Pangya back in the day, I gave this a shot and I'm enjoying it, although it's not without some pretty big flaws.
